Brett is a 20 pound young dog, probably full grown, but still PUPPY that wants to play and is learning to play fetch. He is content hanging out in the same room with us on his bed or playing with his toys. He needs a crate and some good chew toys. He likes hard plastic and fabric rope. His favorite toy is a Kong bone with a rope around it. He also loves the squeaky plush toy. Of course he enjoys his comfy bed, too. He is probably as tall as he will get, we think his 6-8 months old. After being with him for two weeks I think he acts a lot like a COLLIE and may have some SPANIEL mixed in. He is healthy, neutered and up to date with his shots. He IS HOUSEBROKEN and has not had an accident in the house. He IS CRATE TRAINED. He will stay quietly in his crate while you are at home and can’t keep an eye on him, and he will be content while you are gone and will wait in his crate until you get back. We suggest keeping him in a crate at night to keep him out of trouble until he is used to your house. Brett’s personality: He is submissive and not challenging. Brett is a PUPPY that would do well in a home with another dog to follow and learn from, or a home that wants a dog with few problems but needs to be trained how to be a good pet. When I say he is a PUPPY I mean that he is still very curious and wants to investigate everything by smelling, mouthing and even chewing. BUT he has learned to play with toys and learned that certain things are off limits like the trash, the couch, and our bed. Brett doesn’t really respond to his name yet. It would be easy to rename him. I think maybe he was an outside dog that didn’t have a lot of people interaction. He does like people though and will make a great pet with a month or two of training. He still needs to learn: his name, walking on a leash well, sit, stay and other basic commands. Brett will make a very good pet for a lucky family.
