My name is Rusti. I was originally rescued on 8/8/2018. I never had a name before that. The lady at the ranch said I was named after a very special dog that became a guardian angel for the pups. He was their first rescue. Because of him, I had a safe place to come when my adopted family could no longer care for me. This is my third time at the ranch. Both times I was brought back it wasn't my fault, but I still lost the families I loved. My foster daddy John says the third time is the charm.

My brother and I came to the rescue when our mommy lost her life in front of us. We were on Hwy 37 eating road kill. We were very hungry and I guess mommy didn't realize people would not slow down. When she got hit we were very scared, so we froze right in the middle of the highway. Lucky for us a very nice lady who rescues dogs in Corpus Christi risked her life to save us. We are very grateful to her for saving us, even though we were covered in nasty ticks and sick from eating dead animals.

I have grown into a beautiful lab mix girl that weighs 55 pounds. As you can tell I love the water, people and other dogs. I am a little over 2 years old. I am the perfect family dog, but please don't take me if it isn't forever. It hurts too much to be brought back. The girls could tell I was very sad and scared, so they asked John to take me home and let me sleep in a bed again. He is letting me play with his dogs and I am learning to use the doggy door too. Do you want a good girl?
