Hi, I’m Max.

Not too long ago, I ended up as a homeless little guy just trying to figure things out. I was scared, skinny, covered in fleas, and honestly just looking for someone kind. That’s when I found my aunt Nita.

She didn’t see me at first—she actually has been blind for about 2 years and was coming home from an oncology appointment. When she got back, she felt tiny paws on her lap and thought someone had broken in. She got scared and called for help. That’s when my new foster stepped in and found me curled up on her couch, trying to stay close to her like I belonged there.

I was so gentle with her… she said it felt like I weighed nothing when I climbed into her lap.

I got taken to the vet, wasn’t microchipped, and got treated for fleas. My aunt wanted to keep me, but she’s very sick and didn’t want me to have to go through losing her someday. So now I’m staying with my foster family while I wait for my forever home.

And honestly? I’m a total love bug. I just want cuddles, kisses, and a soft place to belong. I live with 5 dogs, 5 cats, and two 9-year-old kids, and I do great with all of them. I ignore the cats, try to play with the big dogs (even the ones way bigger than me), and I happily crawl into the kids’ laps asking for belly rubs.

I’m also potty trained.

I’m neutered, up to date on all my vaccines, protected with ProHeart 12 and Bravecto, and microchipped—so I’m ready to come home whenever you are. My adoption fee is $300.

I’m currently in Texas, but I can travel to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington, KY, and along the East Coast. If I need a ride, there’s an additional $225 transport fee. (I’m not able to travel to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state rules.)
